Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC)
ADCs are complex molecules composed of an antibody linked via linker chemistry to a cytotoxic payload or drug.
ADCs have been compared to target-bound missile systems, which are designed to selectively deliver the ultratoxic payload directly to the target cancer cells. ADCs have the ability to discriminate between the healthy and diseased tissue, so that healthy cells are less effected and get maximum therapeutic benefit. Currently, the use of Antibody Drug Conjugates has emerged as a novel and effective modality in cancer therapeutics, which herald a new modus operandi in the management of patients with cancer.
